With more than 5,500 decentralized generation plants and almost 3,260 MW of marketed generation capacity from EEG plants (as of 2021), e2m is one of the largest aggregators for renewable energies in Europe and is the largest pool provider for balancing energy in Germany. Via its own virtual power plant, e2m bundles, monitors and controls the output and flexibility of decentralized plants and links them to the electricity trading markets.

Within the EDF Group, e2m is a key know-how provider in the marketing of distributed generation. At the same time, e2m is also an established brand in Germany in the field of marketing and optimization of renewable energies and thus an essential competence in the energy transition.

Since September 2019, e2m is part of the renewables division Local Energy Management (LEM) of the group EDF. e2m is a 100% shareholding of the EDF Group. Christian Güthert has taken over the mandate as supervisory board member of e2m energy2markekts in Leipzig as of May 3, 2021.
